WOOD AND ENGINEERED WOOD PRODUCTS
Since the late 1930’s, Thermex Thermatron, LP has participated in the development and implementation of several applications in both the wood product and engineered wood product venues.
Today, the following processes can or do use either Industrial RF or Microwave Systems as their heat source:
- Edge bonding of sawn lumber
- Bonding of finger joints
- Bonding of I-Joist web and flange
- Pressing and curing of fiber, particle and strand-based engineered panels.
- Pre-heating prior to pressing of engineered panels
- Pressing and curing of veneer or scrim-based engineered billets
- Pre-heating prior to pressing of veneer or scrim-based billets
- Pre-heating composite materials
- Re-drying of veneers
- Sterilization of wood infestations
- Vacuum drying of sawn lumber
- Thawing of logs
- Carmelization of hardwood staves for aging of liqueurs
