Rubber Products
The use of electromagnetic energy in the form of Microwave and RF can provide solutions to a select group of heat-process applications.
In the simplest form, the technology can provide volumetric heating to accelerate a process. The molecular displacement of dipoles in a changing electric field allows frictional heat to be generated at the point of each molecule. This mechanism provides an advantage over conventional thermal methods as it is not limited by inherent material conduction properties.
RF or Microwave energy can provide for continuous rapid preheating, drying, curing or vulcanizing and de-vulcanizing synthetic rubber products. The benefits can include more desirable products, consistent shapes, no slumping or distortion, increased flexibility, multiple shapes and sizes, elimination of lubrication and manual handling steps, reduced labor costs, material savings, less floor space and energy savings.
When used in combination with other conventional heat sources, the synergy can offer still greater benefits.
