MICROWAVE PLASMA

Plasma, the fourth state of matter that occurs naturally, has demonstrated vast use and considerable potential in industrial and other applications.  Following the solid, liquid and gaseous states of matter that represent increasing states of molecular mobility, the plasma state represents the state of matter where sub-atomic particles achieve higher degrees of mobility.

Ionization occurs forming a conductive aggregate of charged particles including ions, free electrons and neutral atoms and molecules.  Plasma is the most common form of matter composing 99% of the visible universe.  To create plasma, energy must be added to the gaseous state of matter.  When energy is removed, plasma returns once again to a neutral, gaseous state.

The source of energy required for creating and sustaining the plasma state in a highly controlled format can be either Microwave or RF.  When generated in controlled fashion, many useful applications exist for plasma, including propulsion systems and energy generation along with manufacturing processes such as deposition, etching, surface treatment or toxic waste destruction.

Thermex Thermatron, LP has over the years worked with and on significant efforts to harness the assets of electromagnetic energy as a source for controlled, sustainable plasma applications.  Working in conjunction with our clients, Thermex has developed innovative solutions to several application challenges.

As a process oriented company, Thermex welcomes your new process concepts.  For over 65 years, Thermex has been known for developing and designing RF and Microwave hardware that provides the process results our clients require.
