100kW Microwave Generator
The Thermex Model TM-100-AI (Advanced Industrial) Microwave Power Generator is the most flexible, reliable and completely self-contained Microwave source available for industrial heating processes. The Generators are available with maximum output power per Generator of 100 kW at 915 MHz or 75 kW at 896 MHz. The output power is continuously adjustable and is controlled manually or automatically by the PLC. As required by your applications, these Generators can produce as little as a few kilowatts of power or as much as their maximum power rating indicates.
The Microwave Generator is housed in a NEMA 12-type cabinet that is designed for free standing or bolting to the floor. The major components located in the Generator cabinet such as the magnetron, circulator and electromagnet, are water cooled in a closed-loop distilled water system. A water-to-water heat exchanger using plant water cools the distilled water. The plant water also cools the water load and the environmentally enclosed cabinet through a water-to-air heat exchanger. This unique Thermex cabinet design isolates the water section of the Microwave Generator from the high-voltage section.
The Allen-Bradley PanelView operator interface controls and indicators are mounted on a control panel located on the front of the cabinet.
All control and signal processing circuits are grouped in individual subassemblies and modules for easy maintenance. Each module can be bench tested and calibrated prior to installation into the Microwave Generator. This modular concept greatly reduces equipment downtime and repair costs.
The Thermex Model TM-100-AI is complete with on-screen calibration of all analog signals complete with help screens and instructions for the operating personnel. No more reaching over dangerous high voltage components to calibrate your Microwave Generator. These analog signals include the following: reflected power, anode current, anode voltage, filament current, magnet current and output power.
The Thermex Model TM-100-AI also provides on-screen diagnostics and alarm messaging help troubleshooting.
To add to production flexibility and product quality the Thermex Model TM-100-AI is capable of recording and storing all operating parameters—up to 32 stored recipes. These recipes can be recalled virtually instantaneously reducing the product changeover time significantly.
Optional PLC Control for Automatic Operation:
With a Thermex Microwave Power Density Sensor properly mounted to the multi-mode applicator, the Microwave Generator can be programmed to operate at maximum efficiency by optimizing all of the Generator functions and controlling the output power based on the amount of energy absorbed by the load. Thus, the Generator will automatically adjust the microwave power to the load’s ability to absorb microwave energy.
With the automatic power control feature, the Thermex Microwave Generator will automatically compensate for line voltage fluctuations, delivering a steady output power.
